Nick Terror's farewell

Nick Tetoros and pilot Peter Maniatis

The posters for Friday announce: TERROR'S FAREWELL FIGHT.

Nick 'Terror' Tetoris is rematched with David Wiremu, the New Zealander who stopped him in a round and a half last February.

"Farewell fight" could suggest that southpaw Nick expects to get punched out of the game.

But no. The label means only that win, lose or draw, after he meets Wiremu this Friday, 3 December, in the Town Hall of Malvern, a comfy burg next to Toorak in south eastern Melbourne, Nick will hang the gloves up for keeps.

Con Anaskatitis of World Promotions is promoter. Nick's manager, Peter Maniatis said: "Nick is an even money chance."

Tetoros fought at up to a stone heavier than the division in which he won world #8 rating of the WBO, 140lb light-welterweight.

Maniatis also brought Nick on as his sideman on Peter's TV boxing show, sort of a Merv Williams to Ron Casey or a Barry Michael to John Casey if you'll allow the comparison.

Maniatis picked up his fifth multi-media award at the Trainers League recently. Of Nick's finale - his 20th pro fight in eight years - Peter said: "This will wrap up a worthy career."

THE rest of the Malvern card is good.

Undefeated (six wins in 18 months) welterweight, Shannon McMahon steps up a notch to bid for Eddie Delic's Victorian welterweight title.

The crowd rouser, Tiger Tim Bell - he waged the Fight of the Year last start - meets an Anthony Mundine NZ discovery, Timo Masua.

Undefeated Jonny Walker from Port Melbourne opposes Moroni Schwalger (NZ). And Tim Minnis mixes it with Chris Collard. A name in every match.
