West Australian State Premier, Dr Gallop, has put up half a million dollars to underwrite a Danny Green "World Settler" in Perth, WA.

The money will help the Green Machine outbid Germany for the right to stage the Green v Markus fight in Perth next Autumn. That would be WA sport's "Biggest since Bond" - the America's Cup yachting race two decades ago.

The Australian Medical Association is screaming about the donation - the same AMA that has never undertaken any research to produce any statistics to lend its windy prejudice any scientific foundation.

The Green purse bid still has to top that of Markus Beyer's promoters (they want the bout in Germany), when bids are opened at the World Boxing Council headquarters in Mexico City next weekend.

And a further possible hitch - Beyer has taken what he considers a "soft" title defence against Yoshinori Nishizawa of Japan the weekend after that. Should Nishi overturn the official WBC champ, then Nishi has to front Danny Green.
Easier ordered than organised.
